We are looking at a story that began in 2010 and is getting more interesting everyday. This young man followed his passion and God inspired dream and the best part is he has been able to form a partnership with his fiance with whom he runs this business. B&L is gotten from two names; Bose and Lekan. He took a bold step quitting his job and launching into an unfamiliar territory. I’m sure you can learn a thing or two from his story.

Where is your business located?
18, Sule Abore Street, Ojodu Berger, Lagos. Nigeria.
How long have you been in business now?
I started full time business in 2010
What inspired you to start?
Well, I’ve always been selling one thing or the other even while doing a paid job but at a stage I had to resign from where I was working because I knew I wasn’t doing the right thing. So after resignation I went for a bible course [WOFBI] and it was on that mountain I had a clear cut instruction and conviction to start my own business.
What is your major challenge so far?
Customer relations and communication. People don’t keep to their promises when it comes to payment/money. Politics in business.
What makes your business different from competitors’?
Creative designs. Quality materials. On time delivery.
What’s your partner’s full name?
AkÍnyemi Abosede Elizabeth
How has partnership benefited you and your business?
So many ways especially in the area of technicalities and decision making. She has the practical experience in tailoring so whenever we have staff[tailors] shortage, she steps in to assist just because she can handle all machines. Also, sometimes when we have issues with customers, she sometimes talks to them and I’ve noticed they listen because she’s a woman I guess. Laughs
What are your long term plans for your business. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years time, we would have a bigger factory whereby we can produce 1000 pieces in a day. Also, I’ll have had foreign connections where we’ll import good quality ready made polos/materials [this is in the pipeline already.
Myself in 10 years: I would av had at least 2 other businesses apart from this current one. By then we’ll be B&L GROUP in Jesus name. Amen
What’s your advice to would be entrepreneurs who are still scared of starting?
Don’t go into it if you’re not called, business is a ministry. Only those who are called will excel. If you’re sure of your calling, dive into it, its challenging but its worth it. There’s fulfillment, there’s fun, you meet diverse kind of people, you get to learn so much from them. Go!!!
